At the YLC, we work hard, we relax hard and we don’t take ourselves too seriously!

Are you looking for a fast-paced yoga class featuring wild handstands and eye-popping splits? No? Well, you’re in the right place! 

Welcome to the Yoga Lovelies Club, where every body is welcome and no Yoga Lovely is left behind.

Classes at the YLC are a unique blend of traditional yoga poses and safe strengthening exercises, tailored to the over 45s but also fabulous for anybody who wants to work hard and have fun, without getting injured. 

The Yoga Lovelies Club grew out of a weekly class I started teaching on Zoom at the beginning of the pandemic. I began referring to this online community as the “Yoga Lovelies” which naturally evolved into the "Yoga Lovelies Club”, or the “YLC”. 

Each week during lockdown, we met online and encouraged each other to show up and do our best in spite of all of the challenges we were facing. We shared stories of our struggles, met each other’s pets, laughed at our disheveled states and gained strength from the fact that we were all in our living rooms, together, doing something to help ourselves feel better. 

Cut to four years later… How it started is how it’s going!

Come as you are.

At the YLC, we have a strict policy of “come as you are”.

In your pajamas? No problem. Hungover? This will help. Slightly distracted by your cute cat? Of course you are! Feeling achy and stiff? Join the club! At the YLC, there are no judgements, no expectations. Above all else, we value showing up. As I like to tell my students, “All you have to do is show up and I will take care of the rest!”

Classes at the YLC are a curated yoga experience, specifically designed to promote an ongoing and ever deepening yoga practice from one week to the next.

It is not about how fancy your poses are (although they may well become quite fancy!) It’s about how fully you are experiencing whatever you are doing in this moment. This is about cultivating a habit of spending time with your body and breath… reconnecting to yourself and how you are feeling right now. Sure, you will improve your balance, increase your mental focus and cultivate greater strength and flexibility. But above all, you will feel better.
